Mission

Peak Scholars Inc. is dedicated to expanding access to higher education by providing free, high-quality college consulting services and mentorship to high-achieving students facing financial or generational barriers to college. Through individualized guidance, workshops, and comprehensive resources, we help students navigate the college application process, access higher education, and enter careers with strong potential for economic mobility and long-term success.

College Student

Guidance Provided 

  • Comprehensive mentorship and guidance through every stage of the college application process

  • Access to a comprehensive college admissions resource hub featuring 50+ videos, guides, and tools to help students navigate the application process

  • 10 virtual, synchronous workshops designed to build college readiness and application skills

  • Individual advising sessions with a professional Independent Educational Consultant

  • 8–12 hours of individualized essay support and coaching from a writing mentor

  • Ongoing guidance through the college transition and undergraduate experience

Student Admission Criteria 

  • Minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA 

  • Qualify for free/reduced lunch, priority is given to first-generation college students

  • Reside in Anne Arundel County 

  • Enrolled in or plan to enroll in college-level coursework, including AP/IB/Dual Enrollment courses 

  • Demonstrate motivation, intellectual curiosity, personal accountability, and a willingness to engage deeply in the college application process

Get Involved!

Come volunteer as a mentor.

Mentor Expectations:

  • Attend two mentor training sessions 

  • Meet one-on-one with the mentee to develop and edit the personal narrative and supplemental essays 

  • Commit to advocating for and establishing rapport with the mentee

  • Pass a criminal background check (self-pay)

**Mentors average a total of 8-12 hours of virtual writing support**
